2011 Fishing License

I just went online and purchased my 2011 fishing license. Pretty simple. Here's the link to get you started (those of you in California).

http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/ols/intro.html

Just click on the Online Sales and follow the instructions. took me less than 5 minutes. Only one glitch, they only take Visa and Mastercard. You can print a temporary license and the real one will be mailed to you and you should recieve it in 15 days or less.

If you need one that is other than a yearly resident license, I would suggest you go to one of the License agents (Go to the link at the bottom of the page and fill in your fishing store information to see if they are a licensed agent). Here is the link for you to go there direct.

I entered Fishermans Warehouse in Sacramento and it gave me their information as a licensed agent.

Happy fishing in 2011.

  1. Get this, Colorado just made a rule last year that your License is good for a calendar year, so if you buy your license in April then April is when you have to get another. It dont matter to guys like me who fish year round but alot of folks fish certain times of the year. Sure helps with the lines at the sporting goods stores.

  2. Hey Bigerr. The only drawback I could see with that system, is for those like us that fish all year and forget to renew in April. We have that type of system on the river park pass I mentioned a while ago, but it a big plastic thing that you have to hang in your windshield with the month (December in my case) punched out. Pretty much in your face type of thing.

  3. I recently purchase a lifetime saltwater license, then realized that if I had purchase 5 years at a time I would have saved myself $70. Dang it!
