Independance Day Resurgence. A Movie Review

I rarely go to the theater. In fact, the last time was to see Casino Royal (James Bond) back in 2006.

But, since Casino Royal also starred Eva Green I definitely had to see it in the theater. I also have it on DVR so you know I've watched it many times. I've also watch Kingdom of Heaven which she also starred, just in case you didn't know.

If you're a person who appreciates beauty, you know why, Eva Green, Brooklyn Decker, you get the idea.

Previous to Casino Royal, the other movie I saw at the theater was Independence Day back in 1996. I liked this movie and have it on DVD as well, but when I heard they were making a second "Independence Day" I had to be there for the first showing. That was today at 12:20 pm. Not even an Independence Day movie would get me to the theater at 12:20 am.

So, how was the movie? I feel it started out slow, but you had to establish the characters. Some were those in the first movie. Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, and Brent Spinner.

Then we had to show ones like Munchkin, all grown up, Jasmine's son all grown up, and so forth. Once that was done, the aliens arrived and the fight was on.

A lot of similarities to the first movie. And since you already know that Brent Spinner is back in the second one when we all thought he was dead, well, you'll have to watch the movie to find out how.

It was an OK movie. I'd rate it about a 7 or 8 on a scale of 1-10. Worth the money to see it in the theater especially if you can get a matinee and the Geezer price.

  1. We watch most movies through Roku and renting a Red Box. But, sometimes it's nice to go to the matinee for the pricey, buttery popcorn. Ha!!

  2. Mark, I usually make it about once a year also, and, it is not for my movie entertainment necessarily. I go along to help chaperone some of the Grandchildren. We have plans to see Finding Dory! Wish me luck and thanks for the review.
