I'm Still Here.............

Besides the fact that it's been raining AGAIN, Yuki and I did go to Lake Camanche last Friday, I think. I've been losing track of the days. Oh yeh, we didn't catch anything which is why I didn't post, but then again no one else caught anything either.

I mentioned a while back about the ancestry thing. I've discovered it's like having a blog. The damn thing has a life of it's own. I'll be working on it and all of a sudden, it's 6:00 pm and I've been searching since really early in the morning.

I started out with 11 Aunts and Uncles, two grand parents and one Great Grandfather. That's a total of 14 for those that, never mind.

My family tree currently stands at 179 people and I have a lot more that need to be added.

Funny thing, I did the DNA test. It told me I have a first cousin that I already knew about. I have a second cousin that I already knew about and the other 82 hits, I've not been able to find anyone on those trees that I can connect to me.

Here is another kicker. I just went out and looked at the DNA results for the above 82 number and they've just added a 3rd cousin that I have no idea who she is. Guess I'd better go do some digging.

Did I mention that the man I was told was my Grandfather for the last 70 years on my mother's side, isn't. Weird.

Oh wait, I'd better feed the cats first. They've been coming in every 15 minutes or so (both of them) since about 1:00 pm to remind me, so I don't forget their dinner that they get around 4:00.

Crap, here they come again. Gotta go.

Maybe fishing tomorrow or Friday.

Stay tuned.

  1. Yes that genealogy thing has a life of it's own. I can't even tell you how many people I'm related to that I don't know or ever heard of. I did get a son out of the deal, which thrills me to death. Now I'm still waiting to see if any more surprises show up.

  2. Curious...all the snow and rain and whatnot this past year, how will the over all water levels be this summer. All you've seen over the past few years was horrific pictures of dried up lakes and reservoirs in California, does this "fill them back up"? Have no idea how that stuff works.

When we were in Salt Lake City we pondered going in that library that has all of the geneology information but chose not to.

This ancestry thing can really get to you, especially when you find a connection---and then you say I've got to find out why this person is connected to me!!
I think I've told you this but will tell again, I spent over 2 years non-stop also searching my ancestries and found most of them--really interesting for those of us who love to do that sort of thing---good luck with the research, just don't let it interfere with your fishing
