Too Damn Hot For Fishing

For the last couple weeks, we've either been hovering right at 100 or somewhere between 100 and 106.

The sun feels like this looks:

NASA To Test Fire In Space By Burning Unmanned Orbiting Craft

And if it's not the heat, it's that once again California is on fire. Not saying that other states in the West aren't on fire too. I just live here.

I can't imagine fighting a fire in 100+ degree heat.

What a job.
The next 4 days will be between 95 and 100 and then on Saturday we shoot above 100 once again for a couple days and then back to mid to upper 90's for a couple days. No telling when this will end, but at this temperature it's just too hot to fish. In fact it's too hot to do anything. I love my A/C.

As a younger person, I didn't have any problem dealing with the heat but now, I find I just can't handle it like I used to.

So, my point is that I don't know when I'll get back out. All I can say is:

Stay tuned.

  1. Mark, we are cooking here in Colorado also. We do have some fires, but, nothing like what California is experiencing again! It must be the age thing! As I have gotten older, my motto has been, "I don't do heat"..........

  2. Mark I feel your pain when it comes to the heat. What is the heat like on those mountains lakes?

    1. Hey Bill. The higher you go, the cooler the temperature, BUT the easier it is to get fried. Probably low 90's upcountry.

  3. I'm right there with you, Mark! I just cancelled my trip last weekend to Oregon where it was over 100 on the river. No bueno. Looking forward to September!
