Like I mentioned last Tuesday, I made a couple trips across the stones from the truck to the lake.
Actually it took two trips to get my gear from the truck to the lake and two to get it back to the truck. I'm talking about 50' over rocky ground. In between I made one trip past the truck to the little boys room and back.
Now the good and the bad. The good is that I can still walk without a cane. The bad is that the pain started Tuesday afternoon when I got home and didn't subside (I say subside because there is always pain somewhere between my lower back and my feet) until Friday morning.
During the time between Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning I have to "carefully" walk with a cane or I will fall flat on my face.
At this point, I just don't know if it's worth it.
Mark, I understand. I explored a hidden tailwater rumored to have some nice brown trout. It required a 45-minute drive down Forest Service roads, so it was remote. When I got there, access was down rip rap, but since it seemed a bit dangerous and I was alone, there was no fishing there. Take care!
ReplyDeleteMark that is a long painful recovery.
ReplyDeleteA lot of thought should put in before you venture out.
Mark, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. You know I totally understand. Do the best you can, when you can. I rooting for you.
ReplyDeleteTake care nurse yourself along. Ten years ago I completely dislocated my knee . ruptured ligaments fractured and broken patella , surgery and long recooperation ten years on it still hurts. Like you and others the injury and wading rivers isnt an ideal match but I dread the day when I cant do what I love any more. Take care of yourself....
